mental health Strategy
The Unmask Yourself Mental Health Strategy is designed to help your company build and deliver an internal mental health program that works.
Unlike other programs this program isn't designed to pass the buck of your employee’s mental health over to them, nor is it to take full responsibility for it yourself either. It's to highlight that everyone has their part to play, and this program is your companies way of showing that you take your part seriously.
The program is built on 3 main pillars...
1. The Company

3. The Team
With the focus being clear policies and procedures and proactive mental health strategies that are delivered to all employees in a relatable and easy to understand format.
This might seem like a lot and lot to implement and we understand that building and implementing a new process like this can seem daunting. But that’s why we take all of the hassles out of the process, by delivering you a complete mental health program that is specific to you and your company that can be easily delivered to all of your current and future employees with just the click of a few buttons.
The Importance of Workplace mental health
Businesses are stringent on workplace health and safety to ensure that all bases are covered when it comes to avoiding injury and illness. This is done through inductions, workplace training, and written policies and procedures. All of which on some level is reliant on the individual being in a clear enough headspace that allows them to remain alert and follow the policies and procedures to the standard set by the company. This is why with things like chronic stress, anxiety, and depression directly effecting things like learning, memory, concentration, alertness and physical reactivity, mental health needs to be prioritised more to help ensure that these standards are being met consistently.
One in five (21%) of Australian employees report that they have taken time off work due to feeling mentally unwell in the past 12 months. This number more than doubles to 46% in workplaces that are considered too mentally unhealthy and almost halves to 13% in workplaces considered to be mentally healthy.
$10.9 billion per year is what untreated mental health conditions are estimated to be costing Australia companies each year. This is broken down into $4.7 in absenteeism, $6.1 billion loss in productivity and job execution and $146 million in compensation claims.
So with untreated or unmanaged mental health putting your employees and those around them at a higher risk of physical injury, as well as higher rates of absenteeism and significant loses in productivity and job execution it's easy to see why an effective workplace mental health strategy is important.
